[Akashi x Soul! reader] I Need You

AU: Souls lurk in Japan to help a person or grant their wish. The souls are like humans; they blend in and have a physical appearance. They could feel the pain like a human and could possibly die. However they could be save from completely disappearing in this world…

It was a clear day at Kyoto and Akashi Seijuro, student council president of Rakuzan was roaming around the whole campus. Once he reached the courtyard he stopped his walking and heard rustling sounds of leaves.


“Ah! You must be Akashi Seijuro.” Akashi looks up at a tree and saw a person with [h/c] tresses and wore a white sundress.


“Who are you?” The red head asked as you jump out of the tree. You smiled at him and went near him.


“[L/n] [F/n]. I am the soul who will grant you your wish.” You chirped. Not seeming to believe it Akashi sighed and turned around to leave.


“O-oi! Wait! Where are you going?” You asked trying to catch up to his pace.


“I didn’t wish for anything so I don’t believe you.” He answered and you pouted as he completely left you. But somehow Akashi couldn’t shake of the feeling that you somehow look familiar.



The next day you approached Akashi again this time wearing Rakuzan’s uniform. “Good morning Akashi-kun! Is there anything I could help you with?”


“No. Now leave me alone.” He ordered and walked past you. You pouted again at the failed attempt. You decided to go to student council in hopes of getting a position to be able to help Akashi.


And to your luck the position for secretary was open. You asked for some paperwork which they gladly gave you and decided to start on it to at least lessen Akashi’s burden. The day was almost over and you finished everything before the day end. The door opened revealing the red head.


“What are you doing here?” He asked with his mismatched gaze piercing onto you. You stretch your arms and stood up.


“Just finishing some of your work.” You replied and grabbed your bag. You look at the window and saw that it was already dark. You sighed and walk past Akashi. Noticing that it was already dark Akashi decided to follow and walk you home.


The walk home was silent until Akashi spoke, “Are you really a soul?” You nodded and turned to look at him.


“It’s my job to help you before I completely disappear. And I’m also doing it for myself. If I could make you say that you need me then I might just be able to live again.
That is what it’s like to be a soul if we accomplished our task to make our assigned person to be happy then we get to leave, but if we die before that we will disappear completely.” You explained and gave a sad smile. After explaining it became silent again. Akashi thought what he could have wished for to be able to have a soul by his side. The both of you stopped in front of a mansion.


“Well this is your stop, good night Akashi.” Before the red head could speak you were already nowhere to be found. He missed his chance to ask what he wished for.

The next passing weeks Akashi started to accept your help. It was getting busier with each days and the pressure from other people was getting to Akashi especially his father’s. He would keep his composed facade but as a result of that, his mood keeps on changing and he was becoming more demanding.


Akashi was busy with more work inside his room. “You know you should at least eat dinner.” You suddenly interrupted surprising Akashi. A minute ago no one was in his room except for him.


“Just leave me alone.” He commanded not looking at you.


“Can’t, I need to help you.” You said. You walk near him but something inside him snapped. “I said to leave me alone!” The raise of his voice scared you. You sighed and disappeared from his room. He turned around and saw nothing except for the tray of food on his bed. He inspects it and noted that it was tofu soup. He sighed and ate it nonetheless.


The next day was a weekend and Akashi decided to take stroll. “So have you finished your work? Do you need help?” You asked. He just nodded and looked up at the blue skies. He wants to apologize what he did yesterday but didn’t know how to start. Whenever it involves you Akashi seems to be at lost.


You noticed that he was deep in thought and came to conclusion that it was about yesterday. “I know you’re a good guy Akashi, so don’t mind what happened yesterday. And also I hope you’re happy.” Akashi smiled feeling relieved for the first time.


“I haven’t asked before but what did I wish for?” Akashi asked looking at you. And somehow he seemed to notice that you look pale.


“That’s a secret that I’ll only know.” You gave a teasing smile and held a peace sign. “Anyway I think I’ll be leaving soon, but don’t worry my body is somewhere there sleeping.”


The two of you continued walking in silence. It was peaceful but there was a feeling that you can’t shake off. You feel light and you also noticed that you were becoming paler by the minute. You chuckled bitterly keeping an eye at Akashi for any trouble.


‘His wish was for someone to help him and make him happy.’ You smiled sadly at his back. You were glad that you were chosen to help him but it looks like it won’t be accomplished.


Akashi was about to cross the road when you noticed a speeding car approaching. You harshly pushed him away from the road before the car could contact your body. Heterochromatic eyes widened at the sight in front of him. His wounds from the fall kept stinging him in pain but he couldn’t care less.


He limply went near your body. “[F/n]! I order you to stay awake! Don’t disobey me.” He called out nudging you gently. His voice was slightly wavering. It’s the first time he felt it again, the fear of losing someone.


“I-I’m so-sorry that I c-couldn’t help you…” You tried to speak but only to be accompanied by stuttering.


“[F/n] don’t you dare defy me! Don’t leave me… I need you.” Akashi choked out, it was the first time that he couldn’t think straight. He noticed that you were slowly fading, and kept on calling out to you but you couldn’t take it any longer and gave him one last smile.

After the accident Akashi was confined in the hospital for some tests and observation. Once he got out of the x-ray room he went to go back to his room but when he went in there was another person in the room.


“My body is somewhere there sleeping.”



The person had [h/l] [h/c] hair. She had [s/c] skin and was sleeping peacefully. “[F/n]…” he mumbled and sat on the chair beside your bed.



“[F/n] please wake up… I need you.” Akashi spoke softly as he held your hand. He couldn’t take it any longer; emotions were flowing inside of him.


“I need you [F/n]… I love you.” He closed his eyes trying to stop tears from falling. It was now that he remembered why you look so familiar to him the first time he met you in the courtyard. It was because he already saw you before you got into an accident in the first semester.


Everyone thought he was strong and capable by himself. That was his problem, being strong means no one asks him if he was okay or offered any help. That was until you came.


“Do you need any help with that?” You asked [e/c] eyes staring back at his. He didn’t mind that you were looking at him in the eye. You sat in front of him and helped with his paperwork laid on his desk.


He fell for you the first time you offered him helped.



“Why are you crying Akashi?” A voice suddenly interrupted his thoughts. His eyes widened and returned to its normal size as he gave a relieved smile.


You sat up and he immediately hugged you. You were surprised by the action but returned it nonetheless. “Thank you for saying you need me. I love you too.” You softly spoke and smiled.
